Back from England!

Well, I've just come back from England where I attended a Teacher's Training course for Polymer Clay. I was in a small town called Diss, in the district of Norwich.

My trainer was Sue Heaser - Wow what a teacher!!!! I was in class from 9am until 5pm (lunch break and coffee breaks of course!), for 10 days and never got tired or bored - everything was SO interesting and exciting; Sue's background and experience makes you feel safe and she inspires you to try new things and to experiment. She will be in Cyprus next May to provide workshops during the CYPCA 4-day 'fiesta'. This is something I will NOT miss and I highly recommend that you try to attend too, if you are interested!

This is a small sample of one of the many things that I learned; it is a micro-mosaic, with Polymer Clay. Sorry if it looks a bit fuzzy!

DIY - last minute jewelry!!!

The other night I was invited out to dinner. Sometime in the afternoon I decided what to wear and then started thinking about what jewelry should accompany my outfit; I found the perfect necklace and bangles, but suddenly realised I didn't have earings to match! I'm one of those old fashioned freaks who likes to wear matching accessories.....
So, no need to panic! I just sat myself down and MADE a pair of earings. What a delight!
Can you imagine that? if you were able to make your own too, then you would save yourself a lot of time, money and anxiety - no more hunting around; and on top of all, you'll be wearing something unique.
Just think about that!

I'm so excited about Polymer Clay!!!!

Having spent the last 24 years teaching computer desktop applications,I finally decided that I would like to release my artistic urge. I started taking painting lessons and whilst I enjoyed doing it and created several paintings, which are now hanging all over my house; I joined a jewelry-making class and I thought that was great! I made so many necklaces, bracelets, earings and all sorts, gave them to friends and family and still I had piles and piles of jewelry. Then my friends started telling me I should have an exhibition - so I did! in the meantime, during our lessons, my jewelry teacher mentioned that we could even make our own beads! WOW! well, NOW I was excited. I couldn't wait to see how this could possibly happen.

Polymer Clay - who would believe that such an innocent looking substance can be turned into such amazing objects; just a little bit of imagination and you can create anything - anybody can do it!

That's why I decided to create this blog - I would like to share this creative art with you; and if you would like to learn more, I would be willing to teach you. As from 24th September 2011 I will be qualified as a polymer clay teacher!!!!!! would you believe it? I escaped from teaching computers and now I'll be teaching again!!!!!

Here are some of my creations.
